Assam Legislative Assembly Job Vacancy Details
1. UNDER SECRETARY:
No. of post: 1 (one) (STH)
Scale of pay: Rs. 30000-110000/- + GP-14500 P.M. in Pay Band – 4 and other admissible allowances.
Minimum Qualification
- The Candidate must be Graduate in Arts/Science/Commerce. Candidates possessing Bachelor Degree in Law practicing advocate with minimum 5 years of experience will be given preference.
Age Limit
- The candidate should not be less than 35 years and more than 43 (Forty three) years of age at the time of application. However, upper age limit is relaxable by 5 years in case of candidates applying through proper channel.
Selection Procedure
- There will be two tests for recruitment in the post i.e. Written Examination followed by Viva-Voce which will be conducted by the Selection Board nominated by the Hon’ble Speaker, Assam Legislative Assembly. The syllabus for the written examination which will be of 100 marks in total including Current Affairs, Mathematical Aptitude, General English, Assamese Literature.
2. LIBRARIAN:

Scale of pay: Rs. 30000-110000/- + GP-13300 P.M. in Pay Band – 4 and other admissible allowances.
Minimum Qualification
a. The candidate must possess Master Degree in Library Science from any recognized University.
b. The candidate must have 10 (ten) years of experience as Librarian in reputed institution/organization having practical knowledge in digital Library.
Age Limit
- The candidate should not be less than 40 years and more than 52 (Fifty-two) years of age at the time of application.
Relaxation: The upper age limit is relaxable-
i) By 3 years for OBC/MOBC candidates i.e. upto 55 years, and
ii) By 5 years for SC/ST (P) & (H) candidates i.e. upto 57 years.
iii) By 3 years for unreserved category in case of candidates applying through proper channel.
Selection Procedure

Minimum Qualification
(a) The candidate must possess Master Degree securing 50% marks in Arts from any recognized University. Preference shall be given to those candidates having Master Degree in English or Assamese.
(b) The candidate must be capable of translating any matter from both Assamese to English and English to Assamese and must have good command over English and Assamese languages and adequate knowledge of Computer Application.
